How to Implement Tiering Model
[EARLY ACCESS]
Now extended to November 8, 2026
Stop reading about the Tiering Model.
Start implementing it.
There is plenty of reading explaining what the Tiering Model is. Microsoft even provides official guides and scripts. But knowing how Tiering works and actually implementing it in an existing Active Directory environment are two very different things.
In this course, I’ll show you how I approach Tiering Model projects as a Windows and Active Directory security consultant.
Not just the theory, but how to build it, configure it, and most importantly, introduce it into an existing production environment without unnecessarily disrupting your infrastructure.
This is a practical course based on my experience implementing the Tiering Model in real environments.
What Makes This Course Different?
✔ Real-World Consulting Experience - Learn the approach I use when implementing the Tiering Model for customers, including practical considerations you won’t always find in official documentation.
✔ Step-by-Step Implementation - Follow practical demonstrations covering OU structures, administrative groups, Group Policy configurations, logon restrictions, and privileged access.
✔ Ready-to-Use Scripts & Tools - Get PowerShell scripts and supporting guides to help you build your Tiering Model and prepare servers for migration.
✔ Adopting Tiering in Production - Learn how I plan and execute migrations in existing environments, including preparation checks, application dependencies, coordination with IT teams, and validation.
✔ Potential Issues & Troubleshooting - See what can go wrong during implementation and migration, what to check beforehand, and how to approach troubleshooting when something breaks.
Building It Is the Easy Part. Adopting It Is the Challenge.
Creating OUs, groups, and GPOs is relatively straightforward.
The real challenge comes when you need to migrate hundreds of existing servers, deal with service accounts and application dependencies, coordinate with external providers, and avoid unnecessary downtime.
That’s why this course covers both implementation and adoption.
I’ll share the procedures, scripts, and tools I use to make these projects more manageable, including how I combine Tiering Model adoption with Security Baselines implementation.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a practical understanding of how to build a Tiering Model and how to approach introducing it into an existing production environment, with tools and guidance you can adapt to your own infrastructure.
Less theory. More practical implementation.
🎬 A Little Sneak Peek
Rather than just telling you what the course includes, I thought I’d show you a little bit of the actual training.
